Operation Jump-Start: S.L.A.M.-Dunk Wellness: The WCA team developed this 7-week teen empowerment program and conducts sessions at various times throughout the year. Young teens learn to achieve total body wellness through regular exercise and healthy eating. The program also teaches them how to maintain a healthy self-image and the value of goal setting. Alley Hoops Jam, June 17 and 18, 2006: The WCA team participated in this basketball-themed street festival, which drew more than 6,000 people to the square in uptown Charlotte. WCA founder Terrie Reeves led a pushup contest and spoke on behalf of the Coalition, encouraging everyone to lead healthy lives.
Disney/Center City Partners’ Noon Year’s Day, December 31, 2004: WCA and our team of sponsors provided a health and wellness venue for this family-oriented New Year’s Eve celebration in uptown Charlotte. Our most popular attractions included a wellness trivia game, a giant inflatable obstacle course and a vertical jump test.

Health and Wellness Summits: These informative events are held throughout the year for company executives who are charged with making decisions about corporate wellness initiatives and disease management programs for their employees.
Health Fairs: Wellness Coalition America organizes and facilitates on-site corporate health fairs, which include free medical testing, screening and health risk assessments. Employees and their families also have a chance to attend mini-workshops, play games, win prizes, and gather information from health providers and vendors. Learn more about health fairs.
Talk-and-Take Seminars: The WCA team organizes interactive talks with health professionals, where employees can become educated on a variety of timely health topics and lifestyle issues. Wellness After Hours: This WCA signature event is held frequently throughout the year at popular dining venues around the greater Charlotte area. It is a networking opportunity where professionals can socialize as well as gather wellness information and learn about WCA programs and services. A portion of the proceeds from each of these events benefits various local charities.

All About You, April 20, 2006: Our “All About You” fashion show and fundraiser at Patou French Bistro raised money for the Euclid Center in Dilworth and Operation Jump-Start: S.L.A.M.-Dunk Wellness, the Coalition’s teen empowerment program.

NC Conference for Women, October 19, 2006: WCA founder Terrie Reeves was invited to participate in a panel presentation titled “Your Inner Strength.” The panelists gave women advice for tapping into their inner strength to grow and succeed personally and professionally. Approximately 1,700 women attended the conference.
Wachovia’s Conversation, Connection and Community, May 4, 2006: WCA’s Terrie Reeves and Alyson Faber facilitated a yoga and relaxation session at Ballantyne Resort. The event brought together a powerful group of women to discuss important issues and current events during the Wachovia Championship Golf Tournament.
Southern Women’s Show, September 2005: WCA hosted a series of educational wellness seminars and cooking demonstrations, and distributed information about our programs and wellness resources. Many of our sponsors facilitated lectures and staffed booths.
