Weight Loss Image
For months you've eaten sensibly and exercised regularly and it's paid off. You hardly recognize yourself: you've reached your goal weight and your body is toned and tight. But, YIKES, you slip into an old pair of slacks or a skirt and it almost falls off your body. Although you love your new look, how do you dress for your new image?
Your Best Year Ever!
I have always enjoyed the start of a new year. It is a clean slate with unlimited future possibilities. It's time for reflection and dreaming of what is next. As a business and life coach, I bring my clients through a process where they acknowledge their successes and learn from their disappointments of the previous year, and then look ahead and imagine what they want from the coming year.
Alcohol: Here's to Your Health!
The connection between alcohol and health has been a point of discussion for centuries. And, while there have been fervent supporters of both points-of-view, good and bad, the evidence supports a position somewhere in the middle. While alcohol can improve a person's health, it also is the third leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Obviously, the first leading cause is smoking followed by poor eating habits and inactivity.

Plan for Healthy Holiday Partying
Every business or profession has its busy season. No surprise, considering the average person packs on an extra seven to ten pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day
Plan to Stay Fit During the Holidays
Sure the holidays are the perfect opportunity to "over-do" things a little bit. We may shop a little more, decorate a little more, tense-up a little more and yes, eat a little more.
5 Steps for Surviving Flu Season
Influenza (the flu) is a viral infection of the respiratory tract caused by the influenza virus. It occurs in epidemics in winter months, peaking between December and early March in the United States. It is spread by airborne transmission, such as sneezing, which produces microscopic droplets that suspend in the air and come into contact with the next victim - being absorbed through the lining of the eyes or upper respiratory tract. Commonly, infected droplets on the hand of a flu sufferer (from a cough or sneeze) are passed on to the next victim by a handshake.
Calcium...the Bottom Line
It can happen without warning...you bend over to tie your shoes and feel a searing pain in your side. Later you learn you've fractured a rib. If you're an older adult, your fracture may be the result of osteoporosis.
Cancer Screening for Men and Woman
The main goal of cancer screening is to detect cancer while it is in its early stages and thus most curable. Recommendations for screening are based on their cost-effectiveness when applied to the population as a whole. In other words, screening is not considered effective if it only detects treatable cancer in one patient in one million tested. Furthermore, it is not considered effective if it does not detect cancer in order to prolong life. For each type of cancer, there are several different organizations that make recommendations regarding what type of screening is appropriate. Sometimes each organization makes a different recommendation; therefore, there is rarely only one correct approach for each patient. Doctors should discuss with each patient their concerns regarding cancer screening and make individualized recommendations for testing.
Coping Effectively with Holiday Stress and Depression

Even if you are able to handle the stress from your daily life rather effectively, chances are that even the most well-adjusted individual can go into a tailspin due to stress during the holiday season.
